What are the Travel Technology Disrupt Awards?
The Travel Technology Disrupt Awards, running for the second year, are designed to provide technology startups the platform to showcase their product, service or solution to 5,500 technology buyers and investors from across Europe and for one of these innovative and creative companies to be awarded Travel Technology Europe’s Award for Disruption and Innovation.
The Travel Technology Disrupt Awards are in association with Travel Technology Europe & Travel Startups Incubator.
The Disrupt Awards are part of the Launch-Pad feature at the 2016 event. In this dedicated area and conference theatre startup companies are able to showcase their innovations for the travel industry and present them to delegates and an expert judging panel. The feature is designed to disrupt delegates’ traditional thinking, provide a chance to see the latest innovations in action and understand how their company could be doing business in the future. In the conference theatre attendees can listen to expert speakers over two days of high class education content, hear from the disrupt award finalists in Dragon’s Den style pitching sessions, cast their vote for the best innovation and see the winner crowned on Thursday 25 February 2015.

Entry Criteria & Definitions
- Final entry deadline 14th December 2015, successful applicants will be notified by 8th January 2016
- All entrants must be exhibitors at Travel Technology Europe 2016.
- The company or technology innovation must have been brought to market within the last two years.
- New technology products, services or solutions must have been created by a start-up company that has been in existence for no more than two years.
- The product can be of relevance to any sector within the travel and hospitality communities.
- An innovation is the creation, development or improvement and subsequent implementation of a new product, process, practice or service that is ‘highly valued by’ or caused ‘disruption in’ the travel or hospitality industries.
- Entrants must quantify and demonstrate ways in which the user’s experience has been improved by the innovation. Measurement criteria includes:
- Ease of use; cost reduction; enhanced convenience or value to user; effectiveness; improved usability; access to data or management information; speed of delivery; greater safety or comfort; health benefits.

The Judging Process
There are two stages to the judging process.
Pre-event - online voting:
- Entrants will be asked to fill in an application form.
- From the beginning of February, technology buyers and travel industry professionals will have the opportunity to vote for their three most innovative and creative companies.
- Online voting will close on February 19th and the 5 finalists will be informed.
Onsite at TTE:
- These 5 finalists will then present their innovation in a ‘Dragons Den Style’ session, lunchtime on the second day to the judges and attendees to the show.
- The winner of this final stage will then be announced and will collect their trophy at the end of this session.
